Everytouch Attribution setting changes unexpectedly in Marketo Measure

This article explains why the Everytouch Attribution Method in Marketo Measure changes unexpectedly between Using Contact Role and Using Account ID. The issue is related to the lock/unlock feature in the settings. To fix this, configure the Attribution Method under Settings.

Description description

Environment

Product: Marketo Measure
Feature: Everytouch Attribution settings

Issue/Symptoms

  • The Attribution Method toggles between Using Contact Role Ìý²¹²Ô»å Using Account ID  when interacting with the lock/unlock icon.
  • After saving the setting as Using Contact Role, it reverts to Using Account ID  upon locking.

Resolution resolution

To address this issue, follow these steps:

  1. Ensure your instance is configured to use Using Contact Role  for attribution by navigating to  Settings > Attribution Method.

  2. Set Custom Attribution Method by following these steps:

    1. Unlock the field by clicking the lock icon. The lock icon indicates that a default value is being used (In this case, Using Account ID). Unlocking allows customization, such as selecting Using Contact Role. Once saved, relocking is unnecessary unless reverting to default behavior.
    2. Select your desired option (for example, Using Contact Role).
    3. Save your settings without relocking.
  3. Ensure that after saving, your selected method (Using Contact Role) remains active and does not revert to the default (Using Account ID).

Following these steps ensures your preferred Attribution Method is correctly configured.
