Resolving the grayed-out “Edge” button in AEP Profile Viewer

This article explains why the Edge button under Audience Membership in the ۶Ƶ Experience Platform (AEP) Profile Viewer appears grayed-out. The issue occurs when no audiences in the sandbox are evaluated using Edge segmentation. It provides the cause and steps to verify and resolve it.

  • Features: Profile Viewer, Audience Membership

Issue / Symptoms

  • The Edge  button under Audience Membership appears unavailable.
  • You can’t view Edge profile details or memberships.
  • RTCDP Hub segments appear, but Edge segments are not accessible.

Resolution resolution

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

  1. Check if any audiences in your sandbox are evaluated using Edge segmentation, as only those will appear under the Edge  section in Audience Membership.
  2. Ensure your sandbox contains audiences evaluated with Edge segmentation; otherwise, the Edge  button will remain unavailable due to lack of data. Grant appropriate permissions to access profile details, but note that permissions alone won’t make the Edge view visible without relevant segments.
  3. Select the Edge  option in the Attributes  tab before switching to the Audience Membership  tab; this enables the display of Edge 𳾲󾱱.
  4. Create new audience segments configured for Edge segmentation, if required. Ensure these segments are correctly set up and populated with data so they appear in the Profile Viewer.
  5. Validate changes by revisiting the Profile Viewer after creating or updating Edge segments. Check if the Edge  button is now active and displaying the expected membership information.
