Digital Asset Management (DAM) renditions not matching original files in AEM
This article addresses an issue in ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ Experience Manager as a Cloud Service (AEMaaCS) where some assets in the Digital Asset Management (DAM) system display inconsistent renditions compared to the original file—particularly in web renditions. To fix this, reprocess the asset, clear cache, and resolve metadata conflicts.
Description description
Environment
- Product: ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ Experience Manager as a Cloud Service (AEMaaCS) – Sites
- Instance: Production
Issue/Symptoms
- DAM assets show visual inconsistencies between original files and renditions.
- Web renditions appear incorrect or incomplete.
- Switching between original and rendition reveals mismatched image profiles.
Resolution resolution
Follow these steps to fix inconsistencies between DAM renditions and original files:
- Confirm that the DAM Update Asset workflow completed successfully. Review asset logs for error messages or warnings indicating processing issues, such as timeouts or failures.
- Ensure there are no custom configurations or legacy metadata entries that conflict with expected image profile settings.
- Manually reprocess the asset if it appears stalled or incomplete, and verify that the regenerated renditions accurately match the original file (for example, check web rendition accuracy).
- Clear cached versions of updated renditions from the Content Delivery Network (CDN) and dispatcher to ensure the latest files are served correctly.
- Check author instance logs for errors such as timeouts, failed rendition processes, or mismatches between asset and rendition process IDs. Look for keywords like processing timeout Ìý´Ç°ù failed rendition.
By following these steps, you can resolve DAM rendition issues and ensure they match the original files in AEM as a Cloud Service.
