PayPal sandbox account not verified
If your PayPal sandbox account isn’t verified, you won’t be able to finish onboarding with Payment Services in ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ Commerce. This article shows you why and how to fix it.
Description description
Environments
ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ Commerce 2.4.0 - 2.4.4
Issue
During onboarding, you’re asked to sign up for a PayPal account, log into the PayPal Developer site, and create a sandbox account. If you choose to create a new PayPal account directly from the onboarding popup, PayPal won’t be able to verify your sandbox account. As a result, you won’t be able to complete the onboarding process.
Steps to Reproduce
- You install Payment Services and configure your Commerce Services.
- You go to Payment Services in the Admin and start sandbox onboarding.
- In the PayPal onboarding popup, you create a new Business account instead of logging in with an existing PayPal sandbox account.
- You complete the PayPal onboarding process.
- In the Admin, you see a message saying your sandbox payments are pending and that you need to confirm your email with PayPal.
- You don’t receive a confirmation email because PayPal couldn’t verify your email address.
Cause
If you create your sandbox account before setting up your PayPal account, PayPal can’t verify it. This prevents you from completing sandbox onboarding, which means you can’t test payments or accept them in sandbox mode.
