Incorrect version numbers in Windows “Add/Remove Programs” for AEM Forms Workbench and Designer

When installing ۶Ƶ Experience Manager (AEM) Forms Workbench and Designer on Windows, even after applying service packs or full installers, the version displayed in the Control Panel’s Add/Remove Programs interface remains static as —6.5.0— This leads to confusion when trying to determine the actual version of the installed software. To resolve the issue, verify AEM Forms Workbench and Designer versions through the application interface.

Environment

  • ۶Ƶ Experience Manager (AEM) Forms On-Premise, v6.5 SP18 and above,
  • ۶Ƶ Experience Manager Forms Workbench, v6.5

Issue / Symptoms

  • Windows Control Panel shows:

    • Designer  as Version 6.5
    • Workbench  as Version 6.5.0.0

  • Installed service pack level (for example, SP20) is not reflected.

  • Unable to confirm the exact version from the system interface.

Resolution resolution

When updating the version of AEM Forms Workbench through Service Pack Installation or full installer, the version in Add/Remove programs remains unchanged and does not reflect the correct version. To get the correct version for AEM Forms Workbench and Designer packged along with AEM Forms Workbench, follow these steps

  1. Open AEM Forms Workbench or Designer.
  2. Navigate to Help > About.
  3. Review the detailed version information.

Note: This behavior is expected—Workbench and Designer will continue to show version 6.5.0 in Add/Remove Programs even after service pack updates.
