Smart Crop renditions not generated in AEMaaCS

In ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ Experience Manager (AEM) as a Cloud Service - Assets, Smart Crop renditions fail to generate in the stage environment due to invalid aspect ratios or conflicting custom workflows. To resolve the issue, validate image profile aspect ratios and review custom workflows.

Issue / Symptoms

  • Smart Crop renditions show Processing Failed Ìý´Ç°ù unprocessed status.

  • Logs display errors such as:

    • Skip scan process due to DM processing is busy
    • The 8th aspect ratio should be between 0.05 and 20, but got 22.800000

  • Image profile dimensions exceed the allowed aspect ratio range (0.05–20).

  • Custom workflows conflict with Smart Crop processing.

Resolution resolution

To resolve the issue, follow these steps:

  1. Check the image profile and remove or adjust any dimensions with aspect ratios (Width ÷ Height) outside the allowed range of 0.05 to 20—for example, Width = 1140 and Height = 50 results in an aspect ratio of 1140 ÷ 50 = 22.8, which exceeds the limit.
  2. Save the updated image profile and manually reprocess the affected assets to regenerate Smart Crop renditions.
  3. Review any custom workflows applied to asset folders and temporarily disable them if they conflict with Smart Crop processing.
