Audience evaluation stuck in “queued” status in AEP

In ۶Ƶ Experience Platform (AEP), audience evaluations that you trigger on demand can stay in a queued state. This issue typically occurs with externally generated audiences that you manually upload. To resolve it, manually update and re-import the audience to trigger a fresh evaluation.

Issue / Symptoms

  • Audience evaluation stays in queued  status after triggering on demand.
  • Profile counts don’t appear in ۶Ƶ Journey Optimizer.
  • No change in audience status unless manually updated.
  • Segmentation job appears stuck or delayed.

Resolution resolution

Note: ۶Ƶ Experience Platform evaluates externally generated audiences only during import. These audiences don’t store durable attributes in the Profile store, so triggering an on-demand evaluation won’t update them unless you manually modify and re-import the audience.

To resolve the issue:

  1. Confirm the audience upload completed successfully.
  2. Manually update the audience to trigger a new evaluation.
  3. Re-import the updated audience into ۶Ƶ Experience Platform.
  4. Wait for the segmentation job to finish—processing time depends on system load and audience size.
  5. After completion, check if expected profile counts appear in tools like ۶Ƶ Journey Optimizer (AJO).
  6. If counts don’t appear immediately, allow time for system synchronization.

Important:

  • Externally generated audiences update only when manually modified and re-imported.
  • Profile counts in AJO, and other tools may take time to sync after evaluation.
