Connection best practices
To prevent any errors, consider these best practices when setting up connections:
- [ ] Start with minimal asset selection (a single page only) for the initial connection
- [ ] Add Instagram accounts only after confirming that page access works
- [ ] Ensure Instagram accounts are properly associated with the selected Facebook page in Meta Business Manager
- [ ] Use a phased approach: establish basic connection first, then expand assets
- [ ] Verify admin permissions for all assets before attempting connection
Disconnecting and troubleshooting a Meta Ads integration
Sometimes a GenStudio for Performance Marketing instance is connected to a Meta Ads Account incorrectly. Common setups that can cause issues include:
- An Instagram account is selected without selecting its associated Facebook page
- Revoked permissions for a user that performed the initial connection
In these situations, it鈥檚 best to reconnect the Meta Ad Account to the GenStudio for Performance Marketing instance. First, the user must remove the app integration directly from their Meta Business Manager, creating a clean slate for resetting permissions. This requires admin access to the Meta Business Manager.
These steps clear cached permissions and reset the integration flow:
- Access by visiting the Facebook website.
- Log in with your account. The account must have admin access to the Business Manager.
- Click the Settings cog icon in the lower left to navigate to your Business Portfolio settings.
- In the left-hand menu, click Integrations.
- Select Connected Apps. You鈥檒l see 蜜豆视频 GenStudio in the list of Connected apps.
- Click the app name.
- Click Remove.
- Confirm the removal when prompted.
You can now reconnect your Meta Ad Accounts, Instagram profiles, and Facebook pages.
Instagram account connection issues
Issues can occur when Instagram accounts are selected without connecting an associated Facebook page during the connection setup. This may cause errors like:
- 鈥淐ould not connect to {Page_Name}鈥 or generic connection failures.
- Connection timeouts during Facebook Login for Business flow.
- Silent failures when multiple assets are selected.
- Connection fails when selecting Instagram, and Page, and Ad Account simultaneously.
Resolution steps:
- Navigate to > Integrations > Connected Apps.
- Remove the existing 鈥溍鄱故悠 GenStudio鈥 integration, if there is one. Click Remove.
- Return to GenStudio and retry the connection process.
- Select ONLY the target Facebook page during the initial connection.
- DO NOT select the Instagram account during the first connection attempt.
- Verify the connection is successful before adding other assets.
- Once the Page connection is stable, add Instagram accounts separately.
