New setting to prevent creating a two-way connection from a record type
- Preview: September 18, 2025
- Production fast release: October 15, 2025
- Production all: October 16, 2025
To prevent creating too many connection fields, and potentially impacting performance, we have introduced a new setting to allow workspace managers to optionally create corresponding connected fields on a connected record type. When enabled, connections count on both records which will increase the chance of reaching the 500 connection limit. To avoid that, we recommend keeping this setting off, especially when linking to taxonomical record types.
The following capabilities are part of this improvement:
-
A new setting for 鈥淐reate corresponding field on linked record type鈥 has been added to the New connection tab.
-
The Connection type area of the New connection tab has been redesigned.
-
There is a limit of 500 connections for each record type.
-
The new setting can be changed after a new connection has been created and saved.
For more information, see Connect record types.
