304 stainless steel is the most common, all-purpose austenite stainless steel. It contains chromium (usually 18%) and nickel (usually 8%). It has a higher corrosion resistance than regular steel and is widely used, easy to be formed into various shapes.

Physical properties:
Excellent resistance to a wide range of atmospheric environments and many corrosive media, to pitting and crevice corrosion in warm chloride environments, and to stress corrosion cracking above about 60°C. Resistant to potable water with up to about 200mg/L chlorides at ambient temperatures, reducing to about 150mg/L at 60°C.
