Unable to edit issue status linked to project in Workfront
If you’re using ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓÆµ Workfront and can’t change the status of an issue, it’s likely because the issue is linked to a project. In this case, the project controls the status. To fix it, you need to remove the project relationship from the issue.

Issue/Symptoms
You can’t manually change the status of an issue that’s linked to a project, even if you have the right permissions. Symptoms include:
- You, including system administrators, can’t manually change the status of an issue.
- The problem continues in different browsers, incognito mode, and preview mode.
- The issue is linked to a project and stays uneditable even though you have the right permissions.
- You can update other issues that aren’t linked to projects without any problems.
Resolution resolution
To fix the issue:
- Open the issue in ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓÆµ Workfront.
- Go to Edit
>
Request Relationship. - Remove the
Resolved By
relationship that links the issue to the project. - Save your changes.
Once you remove the relationship, you’ll be able to manually update the issue’s status.
